7 Things To Do With Tea To Be Sustainable

 Number 1:

If you are drinking tea from bags or loose leaves you can put the tea leaves in the compost. With a tea bag, you will need to rip it open and put the tea leaves in, not the bag. Most tea bags have plastic in them so they are not compostable unless they say they are. If you do not have a compost bin you can put the leaves in your potted plants or yard. Just add them to the dirt around your yard. If you do not have potted plants, a yard, or a compost bin, you can look up if your local area has a community compost, most do.

Number 2 :

Uses for your tea box. The box that your tea comes in you can use as a temporary plant box for plant starts. Or you can use it to store anything you would like.

Number 3:

If you have an old teapot or tea cup that has cracks in them making them unusable you can plant a plant in them. Make sure the plant has room to grow.

 Number 4:

You can steep your tea more than once. You can steep good quality tea about 3 to 5 times. Most tea bags you can steep 1 to 3 times. This helps your waste be smaller.

 Number 5:

Do you have old tea that you’re not gonna drink? Have fun with it, make concentrated by not adding too much water, and let it steep for a long time. Let it get to a dark color then paint with it or use it as a stain. You can even throw tea bags at a piece of paper and makes Splatter Art.

Number 6: Tea can relieve odors. Put the tea bag in the bottom of your garbage or your fridge in a bowl.

Number 7: Skincare /1st Aid

Green tea, black tea, and chamomile are very soothing. Put a used tea bag on your eyebags, bug bites, rashes, and acne for 5 to 15 minutes. I do this all the time and love it.

This is not medical advice. This may or may not work for you.

If you have more sustainable ways you can use tea comment!
