The story of my Great-grandma teapot!

This is the story of why my family loves this teapot.

The reason is my Great-grandma and my mom. My mom found and gave all of her daughters (she has 5 daughters) The same teapot. I think 1 or 2 of us don’t have one yet just because my mom hasn’t found more.

Now let me tell you what I know about my Great-grandma.

In 1917 my great-grandma Wilma Wynia was born In South Dakota she was a 10th Gen American from the Mayflower. In 1937 She got married to a Dutch dairy farmer my great-grandpa John.

My great-grandpa and grandma at their wedding!

And she died at 64. In her life, she had 3 kids, Jack who died after Getting hit by a drunk driver at 7 years old, My great aunt Pat who died in 2022, and my Grandma Peggy who is still living. When my great-grandma died my mom was in college so none of my mom’s 8 kids were alive yet but we all know the stories of our Great-grandma. if it was the teapot or how my mom and her brothers would stay at the farm and they would eat fresh homemade ice cream my Great-grandma made from the milk from their cows for dinner, She is still a part of our lives today. All the stories were passed down to me and my siblings, we fell in love with our great-grandma without even meeting her. Now why do we all have the same teapot? My mom and my grandma grew up drinking tea from the teapot. My mom has amazing memories of her grandma and this teapot so she wanted to share those memories with her daughters so she bought it every time she saw the same pattern. My mom’s teapot is the original teapot from my grandma and it’s glass, mine is metal It may be different in materials but it’s the same pattern and that’s all that matters. I Heard stories of her saying how she was amazing and how intelligent she was, how she would play in the yard with the kids even as an adult. This post is to her, my great-grandma, and my mom. Thank you for sharing Great-grandma stories!

Now let’s look at the teapot! Mine is a 1960s enameled tea kettle with a blue onion design in perfect condition might I add.
